As a former lacrosse player, the problem I decided to tackle for my senior thesis project was that of head injuries in women's lacrosse. Unlike male players, female players are not required to wear helmets despite the high injury risk associated with the sport. Even though helmets have become an optional accessory in the women's game, many players choose not to wear them due to the bulkiness of existing options and the fear that wearing them will increase dangerous physical contact. My goal for this project was to create an option that bridges the gap between being fully helmeted and only wearing goggles.
